On Tuesday, 30 August 2011, the cult shoe label ZEHA presents their new IDEAL sneaker collection in a live painting by the French artist Ewen Gur at ZEHA Store in Berlin - Mitte, 195 Brunnenstraße. An exhibition of the "Urban characters" creations by Ewen Gur whose works have been published in the international art book IDEALIST and who is in the current vote as a finalist for the PREMIUM WINDOW DRESSER AWARD, follows in connection up to 17 September 2011.

ZEHA BERLIN The cult shoe label ZEHA had its beginnings in 1897 in Weida, Germany, as a traditional leather shoe factory under Carl Hässner and proceeded during the wild 20s with an assured sense of style quickly to a coveted "shoe-object" for artists and bohemians. Due to the German division, in 1948 the company focused its core competencies in the prestigious sports area. 1954, the trademark of two stripes running towards each other at an angle was registered and the brand ZEHA was born. Since 2002, the company is runned by Torsten Heine and Alexander Barré. With the "Ideal" collection they present an urban sneaker which is available in four different styles and 11 trend colours at the stores of ZEHA Berlin as well as at their webshop. 

EWEN GUR Ewen Gur's work is influenced by comics and street art and depicts a urban world no longer aware of its limits and leading itself to catastrophe. He describes the drifts and aberrations of consumerism in a humourous way. Ewen Gur paints our urban world with a self-assured line and he is fascinated as a child would be by its gigantic verticality. But however critical his work might be, Ewen's approach stays an optimistic one. Since one year, the French artist lives and works in Berlin. His creation "Kill your iPhone" has exclusively been published in the independent art book IDEALIST. Currently, he is in the voting as a finalist for PREMIUM WINDOW DRESSER AWARD.
