EWEN GUR IS THE WINNER OF THE PREMIUM WINDOW DRESSER AWARD 2011

For the second time, PREMIUM invited contestants to compete for the PREMIUM WINDOW DRESSER AWARD with the aim to present the most creative ideas in window dressing to the national and international trade. Creative artists from all fields were invited to apply – alongside classical window decorators, the competition also called on stage designers, creative directors, graphic artists, stylists, artists, students, etc.

From among over one hundred outstanding applications, three finalists were selected during the first round of the competition and each decorated a window of the F95 The Fashion Store on the theme “SALE”. During public voting which took place in August, visitors to the F95 The Fashion Store together with those visiting the online sites premiumexhibitions.com and f95store.com chose the winner: EWEN GUR.

The German/French artist Ewen Gur was born 1984 in Ambilly (Haute-Savoie) and grew up in the Loire valley. His artistic imagination is strongly influenced by street art and comics. His works feature condensed, clear lines in both their figurative design and in the unusual proportions of the faces and bodies. His fluid but very effective drawing technique lends his figures 

their special dynamism. His earlier experience as a jazz, funk and rock musician plays a special role in his creative work process.

The first prize for this year’s winner is a commission to dress the display windows of Galeries Lafayette on Französische Straße – to coincide with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin in January 2012.
